Itinerary
The typical style of drawing in Buenos Aires, called fileteado, has been recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage thanks to its originality and mastery. The colourful drawings and signs have been an important part of the culture of Buenos Aires since the start of the 20th century. See its significance for yourself by joining this tour.
This Porteño Fileteado Tour will take you around the streets of the Abasto neighbourhood lead by a guide. Your guide will interpret these traces of the past, reconstructing the history and culture that inspired the fileteado style. You’ll visit one of the neighbourhood’s most important cultural attractions: the Museum of Carlos Gardel. This space is dedicated to the man who immortalised his voice in dozens of milongas and tangos, making him a legend of the city. You’ll then head to the Conventillo Cultural Abasto, a theatre space where you will learn the techniques of fileteado in a workshop lead by Gustavo Ferrari while you share a mate (a typical drink) and some facturas (pastries), while immersing yourself in porteño culture.
