Discover the Guarani Village Fortín M'Borore: An Adventure in the Iguazú Jungle
This visit to the Guarani community around Puerto Iguazu is an alternative activity to consider during your trip to Iguazu Falls. Get ready for a tour through the different aspects of Guarani life, get into their customs and learn all about their daily life.
The tour starts from your hotel in Iguazu, traveling in 4x4 vehicles to the heart of the Guarani Village Fortín M'Borore. Once there, our first stop is to learn about the tribe's ancestral gastronomy. We will walk through their gardens, where you will discover the fundamental ingredients of their diet, such as manioc, beans, sweet potato, corn, and more. In addition, we will explore their traditional huts, learning about the construction materials and tasting dishes prepared with freshly harvested products.
We will continue towards the recognition of the native flora of the region. This phase focuses on nature and its meaning for the Guarani. We will give you a guide to identify different trees, each one with its Guarani name and details about its properties.
We will then go on to discover the various traps used by the Fortín M'Borore community and learn all about their use and what animals they are used for.
Participate in the "Tobacco Ceremony", a spiritual moment led by the shaman and a choir of children from the community. You will be part of chants that pay homage to the gods and thank nature, followed by a special blessing for all visitors.
Finally, you will be able to show your skills in two activities: archery and the creation of wooden handicrafts. The best at each task for 15 minutes will receive a prize!
This Visit to the Guarani community in Argentina is an incredible midday activity, ideal for nature, animal and tradition lovers, book now and get to know a very important part of the Iguazu Falls that is not usually explored by tourists!
