Itinerary North of Argentina and Buenos Aires bus package:
Day 1: Arrival in Argentina.
Upon arrival at Argentina's international airport in Buenos Aires, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free, either to relax at your hotel or to explore the city. Ask your Argentina travel specialist about a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, a beautiful historic site surrounded by parks and cafes and a busy weekend craft market.
Day 2: Exploring the Paris of South America
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be able to explore Buenos Aires. Our service includes a half-day walking tour of the most important buildings and neighborhoods in the capital with our local guides, including downtown where you will see the Obelisk and the Casa Rosada before continuing to La Boca, San Telmo, Recoleta and Palermo.
In the evening, you will attend one of the city's most traditional tango shows, where dinner and Argentine red wine will be served.
Day 3: Tigre Delta.
This day we will visit the northern district of Tigre, where the delta meets the Rio de la Plata. We will visit the Puerto de Frutos market, which is a link between island life and the mainland. It used to supply the islands and also sold what was produced there. Now it is a local tourist place, visited every weekend by the people of Buenos Aires as a place of leisure along the river. We will return in the late afternoon on a 2-hour boat ride through the centre, with fascinating views of the city from the river.
Day 4: Night bus to Iguazú.
Morning free. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the bus terminal to take your bus to Iguazú.
Day 5: Arrival to Iguazú.
Around noon, you will arrive at Puerto Iguazú. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your comfortable hotel in the city and the rest of the day will be free to relax in preparation for the next day, which will be full of exploration.
Day 6: Exploring the Iguazu Falls - Brazilian side.
Upon arrival at the visitor's center in our van, we board the panoramic buses that begin the tour of the park. From the first balcony we will have a panoramic view of the Argentine Falls. Then, after 950 meters with impressive views over the Iguazu River, we will arrive at the falls on the Brazilian side.
Day 7: Exploring the Iguazu Falls - Argentine side.
After breakfast, our guide will take you on a tour of the Iguazú National Park to spend the day exploring the falls and the surrounding rivers and jungle. The park consists of several trails that take you through the jungle to wooden paths, built a few meters above the jungle floor and waterways. These elevated platforms protect the natural habitat of the jungle wildlife allowing for some spectacular views. The highlight of the day will be the incredible view of the Garganta del Diablo.
Day 8: Night bus to Salta.
After breakfast, you will have time to do some optional activities in the morning. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the bus terminal to take your bus to Salta (Through Tucumán).
Day 9: Salta La Linda.
In Tucumán you will change buses with connection to Salta. After your arrival in the city, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The city of Salta is often referred to as Salta La Linda because of its well-preserved colonial architecture and year-round warm climate. In the afternoon, you will take a guided tour of the city visiting the most important buildings and churches in Salta
Day 10: Excursion to Cafayate.
After breakfast, you will take the full day excursion to Cafayate. Leaving the city towards the south, you will pass by large extensions of tobacco plantations while heading towards the wine producing city of Cafayate. Upon arrival, you will visit a winery with wine tasting included. You will tour the city and then spend some time at the handicraft market. In the afternoon, we will return to Salta through the Quebrada de Las Conchas, stopping at Posta de las Cabras, an inn known for its goat cheese.
Day 11: The Train to the Clouds.
Today you will start a two day excursion in many of the geographical points of Northwest Argentina. First, you will take the road to the clouds, which follows the route of the famous train track called Train to the Clouds through the Quebrada del Toro to San Antonio de los Cobres at the top of the mountains. The night will take place in Purmamarca in the heart of the Quebrada de Humahuaca.
Day 12: Exploring the northwest of Argentina.
After breakfast and a visit to the handicraft market in Purmamarca, you will continue your journey through the colorful hills of the region, passing small villages of whitewashed adobe houses and historic churches. In the afternoon you will arrive in Humahuaca, the largest city between Jujuy and the Bolivian border. Founded in 1591 on the site of an important pre-Hispanic settlement, Humahuaca is a typical Andean colonial city with narrow streets and single-storey adobe buildings. We return to the city of Salta.
Day 13: Night bus to Buenos Aires.
This morning you will have free time to explore Salta on your own. In the afternoon, you will be received at your hotel and transferred to the bus terminal in Salta to take your bus back to Buenos Aires.
Day 14: Arrival in Buenos Aires.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Buenos Aires. You’ll have your afternoon to explore the city.
Day 15: Free day in Buenos Aires.
You’ll have this day free of activities to do your last minute shopping or explore other attractions of the city. You can also do one of the optional activities, such as a day trip to Uruguay by ferry, visit the soccer stadiums of the two biggest teams in Argentina (River Plate and Boca Jrs), or simply relax alone in one of the city's traditional cafes.
Day 16: Leaving Argentina.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the international airport for your flight home.
